Samples

Downloaded samples get saved to your Splice folder, where they are organized by pack. The Splice desktop application does not actually contain any samples or presets- the files themselves are located in your Splice folder.

Depending on your OS, your Splice folder will be located in one of these locations:

MacOS: Macintosh HD/Users/[your username]/Splice

Windows: C:\Documents\Splice

Presets

Downloaded presets will either download directly to the preset folder for the corresponding plugin, or to your Splice folder.

Download locations for all the preset types available on Splice are below:

Astra

OSX: Macintosh HD/Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/Splice/Astra/Presets/From Splice

Windows: C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Splice\Astra\Presets\From Splice

Beatmaker

OSX: Macintosh HD/Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/Splice/Beatmaker/Presets/From Splice

Windows: C:\Users\[your username]\AppData\Splice\Beatmaker\Presets\From Splice

Serum

OSX: Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Presets/Xfer Records/Serum Presets/Presets/Splice

Windows: ~/Documents/Xfer/Serum Presets/Presets/Splice

Sylenth 1

OSX: Macintosh HD/Users/[your username]/Library/Application Support/LennarDigital/Sylenth1/Presets

Windows: ~/Documents/LennarDigital/Sylenth1/Presets/Splice

Massive

OSX: Macintosh HD/Users/[your username]/Documents/Native Instruments/Massive/Sounds/Splice

Windows: ~/Documents/Native Instruments/Massive/Sounds/Splice

Spire

Spire presets will download directly to your Splice folder, in the dedicated Presets folder.

Downloading via the Splice app

When you add a new sample/preset to your library while the Splice desktop app is running, it will automatically be downloaded locally (to your Splice folder). If the Splice desktop application is not running on your computer when you add a new sample/preset to your library on the Splice website, you will need to sync it locally the next time you open the Splice app. You can do this by clicking this button:

Note: if you need to sync multiple samples locally, you can use the "sync sounds" button in the preferences section of the desktop app. This will initiate a one-time sync of all of the samples that are in your Splice library, but are not locally downloaded to your computer.

Downloading directly via the website

You can also download samples and presets directly through the website. Content downloaded this way will NOT be downloaded to your Splice folder-- it will go directly to your computer's downloads folder. We recommend using the Splice app to download samples/presets whenever possible. To download through your browser, just add a sample/preset to your library using the + button, and then hit the download icon:

Downloading MIDI files

MIDI files can ONLY be downloaded via the website, using the method above. Downloaded MIDI files will go directly to your computer's downloads folder. MIDI files you've purchased will not be available to re-download via your library on the website or desktop app; you'll need to go back to the original pack page to re-download purchased MIDI files (for 0 credits).
