# How do I generate a certified license for my samples?

Most distributors will require you to disclose the use of any licensed third-party materials in your content, even if they are royalty-free. A Certified License from Splice can be provided for this purpose. You can obtain a Certified License for any sounds you download from Splice, so long as the Sounds were obtained in accordance with the [Terms of Use](https://splice.com/terms).

To generate a certified license for a sample, simply select the sample(s) you wish to generate a license for on the Splice desktop app or website, using the checkboxes. Then, select "Generate certified license" on the modal on the right:

You'll then be prompted to enter your full legal name, and your artist/producer name. You can then download a PDF of the license directly through the app/website, and we'll send one to your email as well.

If you need to find a specific sample in your library, you'll need to locate the sample(s) that you need licenses for  *without using the main search bar.* Initiating a new search will take you out of the "Your Library" section.  You need to use this search bar while in your library to locate the sample(s):

Or, you can use filters/tags to locate the sample in your library.

Please note, there are a few limitations of this function:

- A **maximum** of 100 licenses can be generated per 24 hour period

- A **maximum** of 50 individual samples can be included on a single (multi-sample) license PDF

- You must **already own** all of the sample(s) you are generating licenses for. If you use multi-select to generate a PDF license for multiple samples, you will **not** see the "Generate certified license" option unless you have already purchased all of the selected samples.
