I don’t have a DAW. How can I try Splice?

Ableton offers a free 30-day trial. You can get it at ableton.com/en/trial/.

If you're on a Mac, Garageband is probably already installed on it. Splice and Garageband are BFFs. (You’ll find Garageband in the Applications folder.)
