How does key / pitch shifting work?

From the Splice Desktop App, you can select the key of your project and all sample previews with a key will be automatically shifted. You can also shift the pitch manually using semi-tones.

Your key and pitch selections will be maintained as you preview different samples.

For example, if you select the key of F and preview a sample that is originally in D#, Splice Bridge will automatically shift the preview up two semi-tones. Then, if the next sample you preview is in A, Splice Bridge will automatically shift the preview down four semi-tones.

Once you find a sample you like, simply drag and drop it from Splice into your DAW.

    Note:

    • The file you export will be the original sample at full quality, so you will have to re-apply pitch shift in your DAW to achieve the desired key.

    • Pitch shifting is only available in the Splice Desktop App when Splice Bridge is connected.
