The Play tab within Splice INSTRUMENT is where you'll find the controls for a loaded preset, as well as your collection of currently installed content.

We have different UI modes depending on the pack that is loaded, the Classic View and the Spitfire View.

In the top right we have the name of the currently open preset, as well as the pack that the preset is from.

Below that we have the Dynamics slider, which is used to control the timbre of the loaded preset. You can learn more about how that works here: Using the “Dynamics” slider in Splice INSTRUMENT

In the left bar is where you'll find Search, Discover, and Library. This is where your currently installed content will live, and is accessed by clicking the drawer icon. For more information about this, please see here: Where do I find `My Library`?

Under the artwork we have the knobs that provide more control over the sound, including features such as reverb, delay, distortion, and more. These are specifically curated for each preset, and currently cannot be changed by the user.

The new Spitfire View is used when loading any Originals packs within INSTRUMENT. This view is more similar to the Originals plugins, and features the classic IIO layout.

In the top half we have the traditional IIO layout, with the Expression, Dynamics, and Reverb controls. These are the primary controls for Spitfire Originals libraries, and therefore are the most prominent.

To the right we have the pack specific controls. These change depending on the preset you have loaded, in this case we have Originals - Intimate Grand Piano loaded so we have the Tightness, Hammers (volume), and Pedal (volume) controls.

In the bottom half we have the Microphone Mixer. This allows you to switch between different recorded signals, which can drastically change the timbre of the instrument. Clicking the Check underneath each microphone signal will load or unload that signal from memory.

At the top you'll find the Mini Preset Browser which can be used to quickly change presets without going to the full Library tab.

In the bottom left you'll find the Pack name and Preset that you have loaded once again, this is to help when navigating in the Discover tab.

The bottom middle holds the keyboard indicator, which uses the Middle C = C4 naming convention.

The white keys indicate the playable range for a particular instrument.

While grayed out keys will indicate that these notes are not within the patch’s sampled range.

You can shift the playable range using the arrow buttons on the far left.

And next to that we have the Pitch Bend and Mod Wheel indicators.

In the far bottom right we have the Tune control, which applies a global pitch shift on the entire plugin.
