With the new Craft feature inside of Splice INSTRUMENT, you can take any Splice loop and turn it into a playable instrument. Craft uses our internal AI models in order to analyze the frequency content of the given sample and turn it into playable rhythms and textures. You will be provided with the original sample, as well as 12 "Variations" of the sample, each with a slightly different tonal quality to them.
In order to use Craft, you must have a Creator or Creator+ plan.
How to Craft
To craft a preset, go into the new "Sounds" tab from your Library panel.
All of your licensed Splice samples that are not one shots will appear here, and you can use the tags and search to find a specific sample.
When you hover over a sample, you'll see the "craft" button.
Clicking this button will start the crafting process, and when it's ready the new preset will be downloaded to your system and the new preset will be automatically loaded into INSTRUMENT.
When the preset is loaded, you'll see the new keyswitches at the lower end of the keyboard. These will switch between the original sample and 12 "variations", each of which have their own unique texture and take different aspects of the original sample.
If the initial result isn't what you're looking for it's worth trying the other variations as they can produce drastically different results.
