Step 1: Locate Splice in Avid Link
First, confirm the status of your current installation.
Open the Avid Link application.
Navigate to the Products tab from the left-hand menu.
Scroll through your list of installed software to find the Splice entry. You will see its current installed version number.
Step 2: Identify an Available Update
When an update is available, the status indicator next to the product name will change.
Standard Status: Typically, the entry shows "No Update," indicating you have the latest version recognized by Avid Link.
Update Available: When a new version is released via this platform, this status will change to a clickable Update button like so:
Step 3: Perform the Update
With the "Update" button visible, the process is straightforward.
Close Pro Tools: Ensure Pro Tools and any other Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) are closed to prevent installation conflicts.
Initiate the Update: In Avid Link, click the Update button next to Splice.
Monitor Progress: Avid Link will handle the download and installation. The status will change to "Downloading..." and then "Installing..."
Complete: Once finished, the entry will revert to showing the new version number and the "No Update" status. You can now relaunch Pro Tools with the updated Splice plugin.
