How to uninstall and reinstall the Splice Pro Tools integration

To uninstall the Splice integration from Pro Tools, you’ll need to manually delete the Splice AAX (Avid Audio eXtension) file from your system. Follow the steps below based on your operating system:


macOS

  1. Quit Pro Tools if it’s currently running.

  2. Open Finder.

  3. In the top menu bar, click Go > Go to Folder…

  4. In the field that appears, paste the following path and press Enter:

    /Library/Application Support/Avid/Audio/Plug-Ins
  5. Locate the file named something like:

    Splice.aaxplugin
  6. Right-click (or Control-click) the file and choose Move to Trash.

  7. Empty the Trash to fully remove the integration (optional, but recommended).

  8. Reopen Pro Tools to confirm the plugin is no longer loaded.


Windows

  1. Close Pro Tools if it’s currently open.

  2. Press Windows key + E to open File Explorer.

  3. Navigate to the following location:

    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Avid\Audio\Plug-Ins
  4. Locate the file named something like:

    Splice.aaxplugin
  5. Right-click the file and select Delete.

  6. Confirm deletion if prompted.

  7. Empty your Recycle Bin to completely remove the file (optional, but recommended).

  8. Launch Pro Tools again to verify that the Splice integration has been removed.

Reinstall the Splice Integration

To reinstall the Splice integration in Pro Tools:

  1. Open Avid Link.

  2. Go to the Products tab.

  3. Locate Splice in the list of available products.

  4. Click Install next to Splice.

Alternatively, if you reinstall Pro Tools completely, the Splice integration will be reinstalled automatically.
