How to authorize VOCALOID6 on Splice's Rent-to-Own

Learn more on how to authorize VOCALOID6 Editor and VOCALOID6 Voicebank

Updated this week

If VOCALOID6 Editor or a VOCALOID6 Voicebank is asking you to authorize, first confirm your lease status:

  • If your plan says Active, you’re still renting

  • If your plan says Owned, you’ve paid it off

Then follow the steps below based on your status.

I’m still renting VOCALOID6 (Active)

If you're seeing an authorization error while renting, it’s likely an issue verifying your Rent-to-Own license.

Try the following:

  1. Close the Splice Desktop app

  2. Close your DAW

  3. Reopen Splice and log into the account with the active VOCALOID6 plan

  4. Open your DAW and launch VOCALOID6

If the issue persists:

  1. Close your DAW

  2. Reinstall VOCALOID6 from the Apps & Plugins section in the Splice app

  3. Reinstall the Splice app: https://splice.com/download

  4. Log out of Splice, then log back in to refresh your license

  5. Reopen your DAW and launch VOCALOID6 again

I’ve paid off VOCALOID6 (Owned)

If your plan shows Owned, you’ll need to use your serial number:

  1. Make sure you're using the latest version of VOCALOID6

    • Check for updates in the Splice Desktop app

    • If you update, restart your computer

  2. Open VOCALOID6 in your DAW

  3. Enter your serial number when prompted

  4. Complete the activation process

Once activated:

  • You no longer need the Splice app running

  • You don’t need an internet connection to use VOCALOID6
