Starting with v0.13.0 of the Splice Sounds Plugin, you can use Drum Pads to build custom drum kits using sounds from the Splice catalog.
Getting started
Please note, all users with a Splice account can use the Drum Pads feature. However, you'll need an active Splice subscription to license new samples. If your subscription is paused or canceled, you can still use any samples you've previously licensed.
To get started, make sure you're using Splice Sounds Plugin v0.13.0 or later.
If you need to update the plugin, open the Splice Desktop App, head to Apps & Plugins, and install the latest version.
Once the plugin is open, select Drum Pads.
Build a drum kit
There are a few ways to start building your kit.
Fill a kit automatically
Click Fill kit to automatically populate the drum pads with sounds that match the current template.
You can also drag sounds directly from the Splice catalog into any drum pad slot.
Choose a genre
Select a genre to tailor the sounds used in your kit. Available options include Hip-Hop, Soul, House, and more.
Customize individual pads
Each drum pad includes controls for customizing and auditioning its sound.
You can:
Use the right arrow to shuffle to a new sound.
Use the left arrow to return to the previous sound.
Delete the sound from the pad.
Favorite the sound.
Lock the pad so its sound stays in place when you randomize the rest of the kit.
Mute the pad.
Solo the pad.
Select the settings icon to adjust which portion of the sample is triggered.
Save and load kits
Once you've built a kit you like, click the Save button to save it for future use.
Select the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the Drum Pads section to:
Load a previously saved kit.
Clear all pads.
Open Drum Pads settings.

From the Drum Pads settings menu, you can:
Turn Skip randomize confirmation on or off.
Set the sound sort order to Popular or Random.
Create custom MIDI templates.
Play and sequence your drum kit
You can play your Drum Pads using a connected MIDI controller.
You can also use your DAW's MIDI editor to draw, record, arrange, and edit drum patterns using the sounds in your kit.
