You can export your Create project as a single mixed-down audio file or as separate stems for each track. Exports can cover the whole song, your loop region, a named section, or a specific range of bars.
Note: Exporting requires a paid Splice plan. On other plans, choosing an export option opens an upgrade dialog. Your project stays as it is, so you can keep working and export after upgrading.
Export your song
Choose File → Export Audio, or press
Cmd+Shift+E(Cmd+Shift+Rif you use the Ableton Live keymap).Choose what to export at the top of the Export dialog: Mixdown exports one file of your full mix, and Stems exports a separate file for each track.
Under Range, choose how much of the song to export: Full project, your Loop region, one of your song's sections by name, or Bars to set a start and end bar.
Under Format, choose WAV or MP3 and set the quality (see the next section for options).
Enter a file name, then choose where to save the file under Save in, or click Choose… to pick a folder.
Click Export.
When the export finishes, your file appears in the folder you chose. The Export dialog shows an estimated file size and duration before you export, so you can check your settings first.
Choose a file format and quality
WAV: 16-bit or 24-bit, at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz.
MP3: constant bitrate of 128, 160, 192, 256, or 320 kbps (default 320), at 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz.
Your first export defaults to a 24-bit, 44.1 kHz WAV of the full project. After that, Create remembers your format, sample rate, bit depth, bitrate, and save folder.
Note: Full-project and section exports add 2 seconds at the end so reverb and delay tails aren't cut off. Loop region exports don't add extra time, so they loop cleanly.
Export stems
When you choose Stems, choose which tracks to export under Tracks:
All individual tracks exports every audible track as its own file. Muted tracks, tracks silenced by solo, and silent tracks are skipped, and effects on the master track are bypassed.
Selected tracks only exports the tracks you've selected, whether they're muted or not.
You can also export a single track, group, or return track.
Stems exports save into a folder named [project name] Stems.
Where to find your exported files
Exports save to the Splice Create Exports folder in your Music folder unless you choose a different folder. If a file with the same name already exists, Create asks before replacing the file.
What happens to unlicensed samples
If your export includes Splice samples you haven't licensed yet, Create shows a licensing prompt before exporting. Unlicensed samples are silenced in the exported file, so license the samples first if you want them in your export.
Export a MIDI clip
To export the notes in a MIDI clip as a .mid file, right-click the MIDI clip and choose Export MIDI. The file saves to Music/Splice Create Exports/[project name]/.
Export with Rheo
You can also ask Rheo to export for you, for example "export the song as a WAV", "export the chorus as an MP3", or "export the stems". Rheo tells you what it will export and where the file will go, then asks you to confirm with Export, or to click Open Export dialog to adjust the settings yourself. If any unlicensed samples are included, Rheo offers License all & export or Export anyway.
