How to use Create / Stacks in the Splice Mobile App
Updated over a week ago

In the Splice Mobile App, you can use Create, our AI-powered discovery tool, which uses Splice’s vast library of sounds to quickly build musical ideas known as Stacks. Each Stack can consist of up to eight complementary loops from the Splice catalog.

  • Click on the "Create" icon in the middle of the bottom bar.

  • From there, you can pick a genre, and Create mode will generate a unique stack of loops from sample packs related to that style.

  • Swipe right to swap a layer, swipe left to delete, tap a layer to mute, or add more layers with the plus button.

  • You can also adjust your BPM, fine tune your mix, undo, redo, or refresh to start a whole new Stack.

  • To preview loops in the context of a Stack, or add a specific loop to a Stack, you can close out of the Stack editor while the Stack is playing. Then, once you're back in the "Browse" or "Library" section of the app, any compatible loops you preview will be played in sync with the current Stack. To add a loop to your Stack, simply click the + icon (which will only be available for compatible loops):

  • After you save your Stack, you'll have the option to share your Stack your link or export to you DAW:

  • By clicking "Share Stack link" you can send it to collaborators to check out your creation.

  • If you click "Export for DAW," you can export your Stack as:

    • Ableton Live project

    • Studio One project

    • Stems

    • Original samples

    • Stereo mix (WAV)

  • From there, you'll need to purchase any samples that are not already in your library, then "Download" your Stack.

  • From there, you will be given the option to "Save to Files," which will save the sound on your phone, or to "Share" the Stack.

  • If you choose to "Share" the Stack, you can airdrop it to your computer, text it to a friend, etc.
