Close your DAW before running the installer. If your DAW is open during installation, the installer can fail or the plugin may not appear in your DAW afterward.
Before you start
Make sure your computer meets these requirements:
An active internet connection
macOS 11 or later, or Windows 10 or later
Splice INSTRUMENT is available in these plugin formats:
AU – Logic Pro, GarageBand, MainStage
VST3 – Ableton Live, FL Studio, Cubase, Reaper, Studio One, and most other DAWs
AAX – Pro Tools
You can also run Splice INSTRUMENT as a standalone app without a DAW.
Download the installer
Download Splice INSTRUMENT from the Splice INSTRUMENT page or from the Splice desktop app.
Important: We recommend keeping the installer's default settings. Default install locations are the most reliable way to make sure your DAW finds the plugin files.
Install on Windows
Install on Windows
Open the installer. The welcome screen shows the version number you're installing.
Click Next, then accept the License Agreement.
Choose the plugin formats to install. We recommend installing all formats; you can deselect AAX if you don't use Pro Tools.
Leave the plugin directories at their defaults and click Next.
Note: The VST3 folder is a system-wide standard set by Steinberg. Installing VST3 files anywhere else can prevent your DAW from finding the plugin.
Review the summary of what will be installed, then click Install.
When the success screen appears, click Finish.
Splice INSTRUMENT is now installed and ready to open in your DAW or as a standalone app.
