Does the Splice Sounds catalog have AI-generated samples?

Does the Splice Sounds catalog have AI-generated samples?

No. Splice does not accept generative AI-created audio for the Splice Sounds catalog.

Music is inherently human, and keeping human creativity at the center of music creation is core to Splice. Every sound submitted to the Splice Sounds catalog comes from creators and goes through our content review and quality control process before it is published.

Our Content Guidelines and Quality Principles require that:

  • Audio submitted to Splice is human-made and not created using generative AI.

  • Vocal content is recorded by human vocalists and cannot be created or processed using generative AI.

  • Providers do not submit content generated from pre-existing works or other material they do not have the rights to use.

To help uphold these standards, AI detection is a focus of our quality control process for all content.

Generative AI technology is evolving quickly, and detection technology continues to evolve alongside it. We use best in class detection tools and methods to ensure the Splice Sounds catalog remains human-made.

What if I think a sound was made with generative AI?

If you come across content on Splice that you believe may have been created using generative AI, please contact our support team and share as much information as possible about the sound. We’ll investigate it further.

We’re committed to maintaining a high-quality, creator-centric catalog and actively work to ensure the sounds available on Splice are original, human-made, and ready to use in your music.

How is this different from AI-powered creative tools?

Splice uses AI-powered technology in features like Variations and Search with Sound to help music makers explore ideas and create. These tools are separate from the standards used to determine which samples are accepted into the Splice Sounds catalog.

We believe AI can be a useful tool for music makers while keeping human creativity at the center of the creative process.
