How do I generate a certified license for my samples?

Most distributors will require you to disclose the use of any licensed third-party materials in your content, even if they are royalty-free. A Certified License from Splice can be provided for this purpose. You can obtain a Certified License for any sounds you download from Splice, so long as the Sounds were obtained in accordance with the Terms of Use.

To generate a certified license for a sample, go here: https://splice.com/sounds/your-sounds/samples

This is currently the only section of the website where certified licenses can be accessed. You can also do this in the Desktop App under the Library > Sounds section.

Once you're in your library, you'll need to locate the sample(s) that you need licenses for without using the main search bar. Initiating a new search will take you out of the "Your Library" section. You need to use this search bar instead to locate the sample(s):

Or, you can use filters/tags to locate the sample in your library.

Once you've located the sample, select the overflow menu (3 small dots) on the right hand side, and select "Generate certified license":

You'll then be prompted to enter your full legal name and producer/artist name. Once confirmed, we'll email the license for that sample to your Splice email address, and you'll also have the option to download it in .pdf format immediately, directly through the website.

You can also select multiple sounds at once to generate a license. Please select the first preset, then using the check boxes, select the others you wish to download. You can do this one by one, or hold the Shift key to select multiple at once like so:

Certified licenses can also be generated via the Splice desktop app, in the Your Library > Sounds section, using the same method.

Please note that a maximum of 100 licenses can be generated per 24 hours period.
