Why can’t I log in to Splice in Ableton Live?

Fixes for the Log In button not opening your browser, logging in to the wrong account, expired codes, and being logged out every time you open Live.

How login works

When you click Log In in the Splice panel, Live opens your web browser and asks you to confirm a code. The integration then connects to whichever Splice account is signed in on splice.com in that browser. Most login problems come from that browser step: the browser doesn't open, it's signed in to a different account, or the confirmation doesn't reach Live.

Full sign-out reset

  1. In Ableton Live, open the Splice panel, go to Settings, and click Log Out.

  2. Log out of Splice in every web browser you use.

  3. Quit Ableton Live and your browser completely.

  4. Reopen your browser and log in at splice.com with the account that has your subscription.

  5. Open Ableton Live, click Log In in the Splice panel, and confirm the code in the browser window that opens.

The login says it's successful on web, but I'm still logged out in Ableton

On Mac

  1. Quit Ableton Live.

  2. Open Keychain Access (in Applications > Utilities, or search for it with Spotlight).

  3. In the search field, type com.splice.ableton-live-integration.

  4. Right-click the matching entry and choose Delete.

  5. Reopen Ableton Live and log in to Splice again.

On Windows

  1. Quit Ableton Live.

  2. Open the Start menu, search for Credential Manager, and open it.

  3. Select Windows Credentials, then look under Generic Credentials for an entry with splice in its name.

  4. Expand the entry and click Remove.

  5. Reopen Ableton Live and log in to Splice again.

The Log In button doesn't open my browser

  • Quit Ableton Live completely, reopen it, and try again.

  • Turn off any VPN, and temporarily disable ad blockers or security extensions in your browser.

  • Try making a different browser your default (for example Chrome, Safari, or Firefox), then click Log In again.

The integration is connected to the wrong account

The integration uses the account signed in on splice.com, so if the wrong account keeps coming back after you log out, the browser is still signed in to it.

  1. Go to splice.com/profile/settings and check which account is signed in.

  2. If it's the wrong one, log out and log in with the account that has your subscription.

  3. Log out of the Splice panel in Live, then log back in.

I see "invalid or expired code"

  • Don't reuse an old confirmation link or browser tab. Start a fresh login by clicking Log In in Live again.

  • Confirm the code in the browser window Live opens. If you're signed in to Splice in a different browser, either log in in the browser Live opens, or make the browser you normally use your default.

  • Make sure your browser isn't blocking cookies for splice.com. Private or incognito windows and strict cookie settings can stop the confirmation from going through.

Still stuck?

Send us your Splice integration logs so we can take a closer look:

  1. Try to log in once more so the issue is captured in the logs.

  2. In the Splice panel in Live, open Settings, scroll to Utilities, and click Download logs.

  3. Before sending, open the ZIP file to check it contains files. If it's empty, you can find the logs on a Mac at ~/Library/Caches/SpliceAbletonLive/logs.

Then contact our support team and attach the logs along with your Ableton Live version and your operating system.
