Which operating systems are compatible with the Splice desktop app?

This article covers the operating system requirements in order to install the Splice desktop app for both macOS and Windows.

Before you start

The Splice desktop app is required for Rent-to-Own subscriptions and Splice plug-ins (Bridge, Astra, Beatmaker)

Supported operating systems

  • Mac OS 12 (Monterey) and above

    macOS 12 icon

  • Microsoft Windows 10 and above

    Windows Logo

  • Linux is not supported

If you are on an operating system older than the ones listed above, you will need to update in order to use Splice.

Steps

  1. Download page for the Splice desktop app
  2. From there, you can select which OS you are running and download the Splice Desktop App. You can also visit this page directly:

  3. Once downloaded, follow your computer's prompts to fully install the Splice desktop app.

Troubleshooting / Limitations

Note: This workaround covers samples only. Rent-to-Own and Splice plugins still require the Splice Desktop App. We can't guarantee the Splice website works correctly on an unsupported operating system.
