Is the Splice integration available in all editions of Ableton Live?

Yes! The Splice integration is available in all editions of Ableton Live: Intro, Standard, and Suite. To access it, make sure you’re using Ableton Live 12.3+; any edition on this version includes the Splice integration.

Do I need a Splice subscription to use the integration?

  • No Splice account required: If you’re using Ableton Live 12.3, you can preview samples in the Splice integration without a Splice account.

  • Free Splice account: With a free account, you can download and license a wide variety of free samples directly in Ableton Live. See more here.

  • Splice subscription plans:

    • Splice x Ableton Live, Creator, Creator+ → Full access to all DAW integrations. License up to 100 sounds per day directly in the DAW without using credits.

    • Sounds+ or legacy Sounds 100, 300, 600, 1000 plans → Full access in Ableton Live 12.3. Samples are licensed using your Splice credits.

Can I use the Splice integration in older versions of Ableton Live?

The Splice Ableton Live integration only works in Ableton Live 12.3. Older versions of Ableton are not supported.

Can I download presets or MIDI files in the Splice integration?

No — only samples can be downloaded directly in the DAW. For presets, MIDI files, or other pack extras, please use the Splice website or Desktop App.

Can I download entire packs in Ableton Live?

While you can license up to 100 sounds per day, the “Get Pack” feature is not available in the Ableton Live integration.

How can I generate a license for the sounds I’ve used in Ableton Live?

You can generate a royalty-free license for any Splice sample you download from your library. Follow the instructions here.

Is there a limit to the number of samples I can download in Ableton Live?

  • Splice x Studio One / Pro Tools, Creator, or Creator+ plans: Up to 100 sounds per day in the DAW without using credits.

  • Sounds+ and legacy Sounds plans: Sounds can be licensed in the DAW using credits.

What happens to my captured audio?

Your uploaded loops are safe with Splice. They are only used to help you find compatible sounds. Splice will not use your loops to train AI models or share them with other users. See Terms of Use.
