Simple Errors in the Plugin:
If you're having issues with Splice Instrument and encountering error messages, one of the most helpful things for our Customer Experience team is to see a plugin log and your Instrument.locations file. These can be found in the plugin by using the "View Plugin Log Files" and "View Properties" files options in the Utilities section of your plugin preferences.
You can get there using the "Account" logo in the top right corner, and then choosing "Preferences".
Alternatively you can navigate there directly using the paths below.
Plugin Log:
These files are the logging details created each time you run the plugin.
Windows:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\com.splice.Instrument
macOS:
MacHD/Users/USERNAME/Library/Logs/com.splice.Instrument
Once in the folder, attach the most recent file in this folder to your support request. Do not upload the entire folder please!
INSTRUMENT.locations + INSTRUMENT-Hurricane.properties + INSTRUMENT.settings:
These files are related to the plugin's configuration on your system.
Windows:
C:/Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/com.splice.Instrument
macOS:
MacHD/Users/USERNAME/Library/Application Support/com.splice.INSTRUMENT
How to access:
Windows:
To access the "AppData" folder on Windows, do the following:
1. Open File Explorer
2. Click "View" at the top
3. Select "Show > Hidden Files"
macOS:
To access the User Library folder on macOS, do the following:
1. Open Finder.
2. Click "Go" at the top.
3. While holding the "option" key, find "Library" within the list and select it.
