Once you’ve found a sample you like on Splice, you can add it to your library and use it in your music. Depending on which Splice surface you’re using and which subscription you’re on, the process may vary a bit. Below, we’ll cover all the ways you can download samples.
Download sounds from the website or the Splice desktop app
When you download a sound on splice.com or in the Splice desktop app, it’s added to your library and synced to your Splice folder on any computer where the desktop app is installed.
Hover over a sample and click +.
To add a whole pack, open the pack and click Get Pack.
To add several samples at once, select them using the checkboxes on the left (hold Shift to select a range), then click Add to your library.
If the desktop app is open, the sample downloads to your Splice folder automatically and a checkmark appears next to it.
If the desktop app was closed, open it and go to Library > Sounds, then click the cloud icon next to the sample to download it. The checkmark indicates the sample has synced to your computer.
Samples you’ve already added stay in your library, so you can download them again later. See How do I re-download sounds I previously licensed?
Download samples directly from your browser
You can also download a sample straight from splice.com to your browser’s download folder (usually Downloads).
Note: Samples downloaded this way are not saved to your Splice folder and won’t appear as synced in the desktop app.
Download samples in the Sounds plugin, your DAW, or the mobile app
Samples you download on any of these surfaces are added to your Splice library, so they’re also available on splice.com, in the desktop app, and anywhere else you use Splice.
