How do I activate my lifetime license for Serum 1?

Learn how to activate your lifetime license for Serum 1 after completing your Splice Rent-to-Own payments, including where to find your serial number and access your Xfer Records account.

Once you've completed your Serum 1 Rent-to-Own payments through Splice, you'll receive a lifetime license and serial number that you can use to activate Serum 1 permanently.

How to activate your Serum 1 lifetime license

  1. Go to your Serum Rent-to-Own plan page and locate your lifetime serial number.

  2. Open the Splice desktop app and make sure you have the latest version of Serum 1 installed.

  3. If you install an update, restart your computer.

  4. Open Serum 1 in your DAW.

  5. When prompted, enter the lifetime serial number provided in your Splice account to activate your license.

Once activated, you no longer need to keep the Splice desktop app running or maintain an internet connection to use Serum 1.

How to access your Xfer Records account

When you started your Serum 1 Rent-to-Own plan, an Xfer Records account was automatically created using the email address associated with your Splice account.

To access your account:

  1. Enter the email address associated with your Splice account.

  2. Check your inbox for a password reset email from Xfer Records.

  3. Follow the instructions to set your password and sign in.


Can I upgrade to Serum 2?

Yes! Whether you're still making Rent-to-Own payments for Serum 1 or have already paid off your license, you're eligible to upgrade to Serum 2 for free.

Important: Serum 1 and Serum 2 use different authorization methods. Your Serum 1 serial number cannot be used to activate Serum 2.
